Red Clover Blossoms
Red clover is found on pastures and meadows. The clover is the globe shaped flower head in a rose to pink purple color. It is one of the richest sources of isoflavones, water-soluble compound that acts like estrogen. It is used in many hot flash, PMS formulas. When the isoflavones are released into blood stream, it will bind to a hormone receptor site. This little flower is a source of calcium, chromium, magnesium, niacin, phosphorus, potassium, thiamine, and vitamin C. Red clover has been blended in many cancer "cures". The toxin binding properties of this herb cleans and detoxes the blood.
Red clover has a long history of use for respiratory and coughing conditions. It is an ancient remedy infusion to be used externally as a wash for your eyes and skin.
Red clover is not recommended for use during pregnancy, but it can be used as a fertility tonic. Do not take this herb at least a week before surgery. Check with your doctor if you are on blood thinners.
